Rummers...

Posted in: Atchison Village

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share that there is a rummer that I wrote the Handbook in 2015 and then more detailed information came forward. It was that I constructed the fine schedule on my own. Here is the information regarding the fine schedule which was adopted by the board in 2013: Policies 06/12/13 YRE06122013.04 to adopt the fine schedule (revision #5). If I was on the board, I am sure I joined in the discussion and voted. I wonder what other rummers are out there. From some emails I have received, it seems that some think I am hard to interact with, dishonest, disrespectful and disagreable. And I know some people think the opposite.  I will not defend myself or argue with people who think I am terrible. That is just the way they think and how we think creats what seems real to us in the momment.

I have been on the board 4 or 5 times and am running for the board again. If you have questions or comments, please share them. Thanks for the support I have had from people over the 12+ years I have lived in the Village.

I realize I posted this but no one know who Lizziebandito is.  It is me, Gretchen Blais...

Hello lizziebandito!

No rumors. Just questions.

1) Did that Policy motion have the actual content of a fine snedule in it?  So many motions, as we found about Hall policies,  don't.

2) Do you remember or know where the Corporation gets authority to use monetary penalties to discipline members in the first place? It would have to be in governing documents, or each approved by Board after preview by members like any operating rule.  I don't remeber getting notice of fine proposals before adoption and have often wondered about this.

Just questions. Number 1: I don't recall but a search of the minutes of the motions should be able to provide the information.  Maybe we need to create a clear proceedure for when motions are made so that everything is in one place and things ae more clear.  That way, less confusion.

Number 2: I am not sure but I recall reading something in eiter Davis sterling or the CA Code that HOA have the right to leverage fines to help compell owneres to abide by the guidelines/rules of the corporation. It might be good sometime to create a binder of the rules that appy to us so anyone can review them.

My thoughts...
